Q: What goes into calculating your prices?
Just because the camera has been put away doesn’t mean that our job is done, we’ve still got more work to do. We spend time editing and retouching any photographs that may need it, packaging them for prints and delivering proofs on-line or by mail. Finally is the cost of the reproduction of the prints and the assembly of albums themselves.
Q: Why do you edit your photographs?
We strive to take the best pictures possible, but occasionally things happen that are beyond our control. For instance, in an outdoor shoot sometimes “nature gets in the way” and something distracting is in the picture. Sometimes it is just a matter of cropping photographs. We like to leave room on the sides and the top so the pictures can be cropped to size for larger photographs without cutting into the focal point of the photograph.
Q: What does a typical modeling shoot entail?
Each photo shoot is unique, so we let you, the customer, determine a lot of the shoot based on your needs. First the customer determines the location and if it will be indoor or outdoor. Second the customer determines what types of pictures he/she needs, such as vertical or horizontal (or a combination), and whether they need head shots, full length or ¾ shots (or a combination). Next we set up the backdrop and the lighting. Sometimes there are clothing changes if the customer desires. Then we take the pictures themselves. After we leave we edit the pictures and the customer makes his/her selections. Then we deliver the final product.
Q: What types of photographs do you take?
We take all kinds of photographs ranging from weddings to special events (everything from conventions to parties), preschool to senior photography, portraits, and self-promotional to modeling. Basically we photograph what our customers want. Please note however that we do not take boudoir photographs.
Q: How come your turnaround time is so quick?
We handle each job one at a time from start to finish. Once your pictures have been taken, we work on them until each picture has been reviewed and any touch ups have been completed before we move on to the next job. This allows us to make sure that nothing gets overlooked or forgotten. We treat every job like it is our own photographs and want what is best for our customers. We like to receive our own photographs quickly and do no less for our customers.
Once our customers have made their final selections we immediately send their order in. We don’t believe in making them wait until multiple orders have been completed so that we can get an additional discount like some studios do.
Typically, turn around time from photo shoot to proofs is just a few days (weddings and large events may take longer due to the number of photos taken). Once orders are placed, the photos can generally be received within one week.
Q: What is the purpose of the shot list that I received?
We give each bride a sample shot list. This list contains popular wedding photo choices. We allow our brides to modify the list by adding photos not listed that they would like and removing photos that they do not want. This ensures that we do not overlook any important pictures.
